Whereas President Nelson encouraged us to simply study the promises made by God to Israel, to come to pass in our individual lives, I decided to study the entire beginning to finish history of Israel, starting with the Creation to Abraham to Christ to the Restoration to the Second Coming. My thought process was that I wouldn’t be able to fully understand and appreciate the blessings promised without understanding the history and context of Israel’s scattering.
As such, this study is extremely exhaustive, coming in at 400 pages on Word Perfect, being approximately 200 full pages if reading in the scriptures. In essence, it’s a mini-standard works, going through the entire Biblical history of Israel, along with scriptures and prophecies from the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. It’s presented in story form, according to topic. As such, there’s a total of 62 categories over the course of 11 chapters. This was never intended to become a book, but due to the exhaustive nature of the study, that’s what it became. It’s not intended to be a quick sit-down read. Realistically, it would take someone quite a few hours, just as if you were reading the scriptures normally studying a specific topic. But…President Nelson did say take 6 months to study. It’s taken me 3 months to research and compile all the data. If anything, it’s a great reference tool.
